The Body Is A Masterpiece Photography Installation FAQs

What is this installation about?

This photography installation celebrates the human form as a work of art. Participants are invited to showcase their favorite aspect of themselves—whether it’s a body part, a pose, or an expression in a way that makes them feel confident and empowered—through photography.

Who can participate?

Anyone! This is an open invitation for all identities and body types. Everyone is encouraged to celebrate their own unique beauty.

Do I have to undress?

No! Participation is entirely on your terms. You can be fully clothed, partially undressed, or nude—whatever makes you comfortable.

Where will the photos be taken?

Photos will be taken in a private studio setting located inside Chronic Guru (16 W Pine St) designed to ensure comfort and confidentiality.

How will the photos be used?

Photos are used for printing and/or creating fine art works. (Take a look, all the artwork was created at previous year’s IMMERSE.) All participants must sign a model release in order to participate, however, the release does give options regarding public display and privacy of your photos.

Is this a safe space?

Absolutely. Respect, consent, and comfort are top priorities. You are in control of how you present yourself, and no judgment will be made. We are LGBTQ+ allies.

Does it cost anything to participate?

No. I believe everyone deserves meaningful art. The Body Is A Masterpiece is made possible through the support and commitment of Creative City Project. (Though you’re always welcome to tip the photographer.)
